Hotel Review: Regente Benidorm

This review is part of my trip to Benidorm, Spain in 2022 between 27th July – 13th August 2022. This review will be split into a few categories about the hotel:

  1. Where I stayed
  2. What I liked about the hotel
  3. What I didn’t like/understand about the hotel
  4. The Rooms
  5. Meals
  6. Food Truck
  7. Hotel Entertainment
  8. Facilities
  9. Is it worth staying there?
  10. TL;DR (For those who prefer to just get straight to the point, scroll to the bottom)

Where I stayed: Hotel Regente ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A bit of information about the hotel:

The Hotel Regente is located about 10-15 mins walk away from the Beach depending on how fast you walk. This hotel is a 4 star hotel and it is a nice, small hotel. I stayed there all inclusive and it was good: the beds were comfy, the balcony has a nice view, there was always something for me to enjoy (as I’m a picky eater 🤣).

For the review of this hotel I will split it into a few categories:

  • A bit about the rooms
  • Was the all inclusive any good?
  • The Pool
  • Entertainment
  • Honourable mentions

The Rooms

The rooms in this hotel aren’t the biggest compared to other hotels necessarily. They are alright for 2-3 people. Can’t fault the balcony as it does have some good views. The balcony lights go off at about 1 am and you can see them go off and the same with the Melia across the road. The maids clean the rooms everyday so each night you have a clean room and bed. The rooms also have things like air con and TVs which you can use to cast things to if you want, not to forget there is also a little fridge that you can put some stuff in.

Meals

The hotel offers 3 meals a day:

  • Breakfast (8:00-10:30)
  • Lunch (13:00-15:00)
  • Tea (19:30-22:00)

Meal times at this hotel are very good because there is a decent variety of lots of different foods including things like paellas, chicken, and foods from other cultures and places and they even offer things like chips as well if you are like me and don’t eat a lot of different foods. It’s also very good because you can just keep going back up for as much as you want.

Food Truck

Anytime between 11:30 and 18:00 there is a food truck located by the pool where you can go for a drinks and for bits of food like: toasties, portions of chips, crepes and burgers etc.

I like this food truck because it’s in a convenient place, it has something for all to enjoy and the staff there are very nice and do their best to get your food ready as quick as they can.

Hotel Entertainment

The hotel offers lots of entertainment from things like pool activities, to games of pool and evening entertainment. I never took part in any of the aqua aerobics stuff so I don’t know what that was like so I won’t make any comments on it.

The evening entertainment on the Sun Terrace is decent especially if they do things like Kahoot and Bingo as I personally enjoy that stuff and it’s a bit of fun and a chance to win a little prize. Usually, there will be some acts like dancers which I’m not a fan of because I don’t find watching dancers entertaining, but that’s just me. There are other acts like sometimes there’s people who do magic which quite good and not to mention there are some activities for the kids like the Meddy Disco and Guess The Character.

Facilites

Each room has a kettle, wardrobe, fridge, and a hair dryer and a good on-suite with a powerful shower.

Honourable mentions

All the staff! Especially, the entertainments from Naxho and Alberto and the friendly bar staff like Miguel as them three stood out to me the most on my trip.

All Inclusive: Is it worth it?

The all-inclusive part at this hotel is quite good because you get as much as what you want obviously and can make the most out of what this hotel has to offer. (I know I did with all the ham and cheese toasties I consumed on my stay there). Now to decide whether the all-inclusive was worth it I waited until the end of my stay to make an informed decision about this after seeing everything that was offered.

After staying at this hotel, I believe that the all-inclusive is only worth it depending of what you do, if you intend to just stay in the hotel and make use of all the facilities and what is offered then fair enough. However, in the hotel I believe there’s only so much you can do as I’m the sort of person that likes to get out and about and explore.

Summary

What I liked about the hotel:

  • The all-inclusive
  • The Food Truck
  • The times of day when the meals are
  • The facilities in the room
  • Wi-Fi
  • The Entertainment (Specifically the Kahoot and Bingo)
  • Views from the balcony
  • Polite, friendly & helpful staff

What I didn’t like/thoughts:

  • After midnight for the last hour of the bar you have to pay for drinks even if you’re all inclusive. Therefore, it’s worth getting 2-3 drinks near the time to see you through.
  • The pool is quite busy, especially when aqua aerobics and water polo is on.
  • There are only two lifts and they can be busy at times, one of them was briefly out of use.

Would I stay there again?

The answer to this is yes, however, I wouldn’t stay for as long as I did, 1000% as this is a fantastic little hotel and I would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation on holiday in Benidorm.

TL;DR

A small, nice hotel situated in the heart of Benidorm that gives you a good run for your money.
